Participants will learn how to collect, interpret, and visualise organizational data to understand employee needs, track engagement, and improve message delivery. It blends course blends technical insights with strategic thinking — enabling participants to make data-driven decisions, enhance transparency, and align communication with UMC goals.
ECJ/260: JOURNALISM FOUNDATIONS AND ETHICS
This course introduces learners to the fundamental principles, history and role of journalism in society, with particular emphasis on communication within faith-based institutions. It examines the basic functions of journalism such as informing, educating and shaping public understanding, while exploring the responsibilities of communicators working within the church environment. The course also highlights key ethical standards in journalism, including accuracy, fairness, objectivity, accountability and respect for human dignity. Learners are introduced to common ethical dilemmas faced by communicators and are guided on how to apply Christian values and professional ethics in the gathering and dissemination of information.
